Decks, Pergolas & Outdoor

The part of the house you actually use.

Structural decking, pergolas, carports and outdoor kitchens built to engineering, not to guesswork. Anything raised more than two feet needs a permit and proper footings below the frost line, and we do it properly.

Outdoor structures live in the weather, which means they are judged entirely on how they look in year ten rather than year one. Decking that was not detailed for drainage, posts that were not properly flashed, fixings that were not rated for coastal exposure — none of it shows on handover day and all of it shows eventually.

We engineer raised decks and roofed structures rather than eyeballing them, use fixings rated for the actual exposure of your site, and detail the junctions so water goes where it should. On the Northern Beaches and in the east that is not over-engineering, it is the minimum.

We will also tell you honestly when the material you have chosen is the wrong call for your site, and show you the price of both options rather than quietly upselling you to the more expensive one.

How it runs

Our outdoor process

The same sequence on every job, so you always know what happens next.

  1. 01

    Site and level check

We survey levels, check boundary setbacks and confirm whether engineering and approval are required.

  2. 02

    Design and detail

Materials, spans and fixings specified so the structure lasts twenty years, not five.

  3. 03

    Approval

Engineering certification and HRM building permit applications for raised decks and roofed structures.

  4. 04

    Build

Footings, frame, decking and finishing, typically inside two to four weeks.

  5. 05

    Handover

Certification, sealing schedule and a maintenance guide for the timber.

Client feedback

What it is actually like to build with us

Averaging 5.0 out of 5 across 1 reviews. These are unedited, and we have not cherry-picked the short ones.

  • They told us honestly that the composite decking we had picked would cost more than the hardwood and need less work, then showed us both prices and let us decide. No upselling. We went composite and have not touched it since.
