Frequently asked
The questions builders usually dodge
Most of these come up on the first phone call. We would rather you had the answers before you rang, including the ones that are not in our favour.
Money
What things cost, how variations work, and when you pay.
Insurance & warranty
Who we are, what we carry, and how to check it yourself.
How a build runs
What happens between signing and handover.
Everything else
Timing, areas, and the questions that do not fit elsewhere.
Still deciding
The honest version
Three things we tell every client before they sign, because finding them out later is what sours a build.
We are rarely the cheapest
A cheaper quote usually means something has been left out of it. Ask any builder to show you their exclusions list — the gap between two quotes is almost always sitting in there.
Old houses hold surprises
We investigate before we price, which catches most of it. But no one can see inside every wall. When something turns up, you get it in writing with a price before we touch it.
We will say no
If your budget and your brief do not meet, or the job is outside what we do well, we will tell you at the estimate rather than take the deposit and hope.
Ready for a real number?
Tell us the scope and the community. You will get a fixed-price estimate with the inclusions and exclusions written down.
Replies within one business day. We build across Halifax and the HRM, with weekend crews for urgent works.
